Pristine formations in Long Snake Cave

Caving Trip 4: Long Snake Cave

A great day of caving in a very beautiful, pristine cave!

This cave is full of formations in pristine condition – flowstone, stalactites, stalagmites and more. There is a small shallow stream, some wildlife (bats, and snakes if you’re lucky), and there are at least 6 short, low sections (crawling on hands, knees and belly) each way.

We go in deep, up to 4 km each way, making this one of the deepest and most adventurous caving trips we offer. Your shoes will get wet, and you will get a bit dirty.

Some sections deep inside are “very low”. This cave is not for claustrophobics! Bigger people might find it too tight to get through the last crawl; they can wait while the thinner ones check out the end of the cave.

To reach the cave, we drive about 1 hour (great views), depending on the season and road access. Then we walk 20–30 minutes downhill to the entrance. Inside, apart from the low sections, the caving is fairly easy – and it is stunning, with a huge variety of calcite formations. We typically spend 4–5 hours in the cave and return before sunset.

Tours start from 5 people. Smaller groups are also welcome and can join at the rates below.
